The Folklore's Digital Producer Raven Irabor Shares Her Summertime Essentials
As the whiz in charge of The Folklore’s original multimedia content, Raven Irabor is often found working her magic behind-the-scenes. She brings to life the stories of designers and creatives from across the diaspora, who not only work in the fashion industry, but within the realms of photography, design, architecture, film, dance, and more. Irabor has been behind shoots featuring Cape Town-based brand Selfi, R&B-singer Courtnie Henson, and New York-based jewelry brand Third Crown, to name a few.
The Syracuse graduate is known for putting together incredible teams of stylists, models, talent, and photographers. Irabor brings a curated yet authentic sensibility to her work, reflecting her passion for community, global Black culture, fashion, and visual culture, all of which are rooted in The Folklore’s mission. Not to be overlooked, of course, is Raven’s impeccable style. This week, we turned the spotlight onto her to discover what summer styles from The Folklore were on her shopping list.
Now based in Los Angeles by way of New York, Irabor likes to consider herself bi-coastal and her eclectic taste reflects a range of fashionable influences. "I've been eyeing this dress for so long! I love the colors and the lightweight fabric. It's elegant enough to dress up but relaxed enough to dress down. I'd wear it with these white sandals, the Marcy Link bracelet from Third Crown, and a white bag with a curly pineapple puff."

"I really love this shade of green, the brown tortoiseshell buckle detail, and the size of this bag. I'm not into long handles, so I like how the handle is big enough to go on your shoulder, yet small enough to hold with your hands. I'd wear it with a basic ribbed white tank, high waisted black jeans, tortoiseshell mules, and these tortoiseshell sunglasses on my head with long black box braids."

"I am obsessed with Shekudo! All of their shoes are so chic and remind me of Spring/Summer. I'd pair these shoes with a nice linen set, a nice leather animal print embossed bag, and with long thin black goddess locks. It's giving me vacationing in Ivory Coast vibes."

"These pants look extremely comfortable! I typically do not like wearing tight pants or jeans, because I like to have some room. It's also great, just in case you haven't hit the gym in a long time and need to catch up on your squat game. I'd pair these with a loose-fitting scoop neck white tee and have it slightly tucked in, an olive color bag, olive color shoes, the Double Arc Hoop Earrings from Chalk, and a blunt bob with both sides tucked behind my ears."

"Hot girl summer is not canceled according to Meg and Bey. That means we can't have a summer list without a rooftop party 'fit. For this hottie look, I'd pair it with a colorful printed mini dress, brown mules, a gold chain, large rectangular sunglasses with a hint of tortoiseshell, and my hair would be goddess braids in a high ponytail. Now, who's driving the boat?"
