Event: The Folklore New York Fashion Week Dinner Hosted by Naomi Elizée

This past weekend on Sunday, September 12, The Folklore and Vogue magazine’s market editor Naomi Elizée hosted a dinner during New York Fashion Week. Held at Teranga restaurant, the event was a showcase of the latest AW21 collections and a celebration of The Folklore’s third anniversary.

The successful event hosted a number of guests from the walks of music, art, design, fashion and media, including the likes of artist Jidenna, music producer Nana Kwabena, Dreamville’s VP of creative services Felton Brown, Tastemaker Africa founder Cheraé Robinson, head of fashion and beauty at Snap Inc Rajni Jacques, GQ fashion director Mobolaji Dawodu as well as DJ and our recent 3 Ways To Style subject Akili King. The music for the night was curated by Harlem-based Afrohouse DJ AQ.

Host Elizée was dressed in pieces from the upcoming AW21 collection by Nigerian brand Orange Culture with jewelry from New York-based accessory brand Khiry, which is arriving on The Folklore soon. Also in attendance was The Folklore’s CEO Amira Rasool, wearing a dress by Lagos-based brand Fruché, while guests enjoyed browsing through the racks full of pieces by Kente Gentlemen, Tokyo James and more.

Powered by Oxygen and Courvoisier, the dinner was catered by West African restaurant Teranga, with a menu inspired by traditional African cooking and ingredients sourced from or indigenous to the continent.
