Pride and Parties: The Folklore Celebrates The Year of Return
This week, the Folklore and a host of cultural influencers across media, music, fashion and more traveled to Accra to close out The Year of Return. Highly-publicized by members of the African diaspora, the year-long celebration marked 400 years since the first slave ships left Ghanaian coasts for the transatlantic slave trade and invited the descendants “come home.” Celebrated through activations and events throughout the year, the monumental event ended with a week of festivities and parties including Afrochella, a must-attend event for African fashion and music overs.
Our founder, Amira Rasool, was on the ground and rounded up a collection of her favorite fashion and art moments from Ghana's most exciting celebration.
