About The Role

The Folklore is searching for an experienced Director of Brand Sales & Account Management to close new VIP brand users and lead the brand account management team. This role is a key part of the leadership team that will help with developing strategies across brand sales and brand account management. A core responsibility will be sourcing and acquiring VIP brands as an individual contributor. They will also lead a one person account management team. This role will have a significant impact on the company's revenue, roadmap, and external relationships. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground level and work closely with our CEO to develop a barrier breaking world-class company.

Responsibilities

Subscription Sales – Individual Contributor

  • Personally identify and create a sales pipeline of VIP brands and hit company targets
  • Personally manage every stage of the VIP brand sales pipeline from sourcing deals, pitching, and closing deals
  • Execute and augment the brand sales pipeline playbook
  • Execute and augment brand sales pitch email and meeting scripts

Account Management / Team Management

  • Manage existing and recruit new brand account management team members
  • Oversee and provide support to brand account management team & ensure they hit their goals
  • Handle issues that are escalated by direct reports
  • Create account management reports on business status, risks, and revenue attainment
  • Execute and augment the account management playbook
  • Execute and augment the account management pitch emails and meeting scripts
  • Develop and oversee upselling opportunities with existing brands

Strategic Development

  • Collaborate with CEO to set and manage brand sales and brand account management objectives, goals, and KPIs
  • Help CEO develop brand sales and brand account management strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Provide insight on product roadmap based on customer needs and company objectives
  • Collaborate with Marketing to evaluate external partnerships that lead to brand growth and retention

Who You Are

  • You have B2B sales and account management experience with a proven track record of successfully scaling revenue at an early stage company
  • You have played a key supportive role in successfully scaling revenue at an early stage company
  • Willingness to adapt to an expanding and demanding startup environment that requires fast decision making and shifts in priorities.
  • Extremely well organized and can manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • A strong executer willing to take a hands-on approach 
  • Great communication skills, continuous learning, and bias for action
  • Great team player with passion for encouraging cross-functional collaboration and alignment
  • You have experience with building and scaling internal tools which drive efficient and effective sales operations and customer experience
  • You are a creative problem-solver. You excel at identifying simple solutions to tough problems.
  • You are relentlessly resourceful. When something needs to get done, you always find a way to make it happen. Even when the work is hard, you have the drive to power through it and execute with limited information and ambiguity.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5-7 years of professional sales experience 
  • Minimum of two years managing teams
  • Experience at small company or early stage startup
  • Experience with CRM systems
