Round Up – Best of Arise Fashion Week Lagos 2019
Last week, thousands of international fashion fans, creatives, models, and influencers gathered in Lagos, Nigeria to celebrate Africa’s greatest fashion design talents at the annual Arise Fashion Week. The three-day fashion event, which returned last year after a brief hiatus, showcased high-end and luxury menswear and womenswear designers from Nigeria, South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, Canada, the U.K., and almost a dozen other countries. As for high-profile guest, supermodels Naomi Campbell, Liya Kebede, and Alton Mason were spotted hitting the runway in looks by Nigerian designer Bridget Awosika and 2019 LVMH finalist, Kenneth Ize.
Arise Fashion Week, of course, made sure to highlight some of The Folklore’s most popular and fashion-forward brands. Fashion brands Andrea Iyamah, Loza Maléombho, MmusoMaxwell, and Tokyo James, debuted their latest Autumn/Winter 2019 collections in front of an elite crowd that included former Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley, GQ Fashion Director Mobolaji Dawodu, and British Vogue editor Olivia Singer. Naomi, Liya, and Alton also sported some of their looks on and off the runway.
Although the festivities may have come to an end, the internet is still buzzing about all of the vibrant and innovative designs that hit the runway. Here, we put together a roundup of the best looks from Arise Fashion Week 2019:
