Clan Showcases SS20 Collection at Lagos Fashion Week
Feelings of self-assured youthfulness permeate Clan’s ‘Wildfire’ Spring/ Summer 2020 collection. Each piece—from the strong, monochromatic looks to the bold patterned pieces—feature tiny details that highlight the label's knack for fine tailoring and dreamy outlook.
Slitted leather-like pants, a backless dress with a front to back cut-out detail, a single strap suede dress and more contribute to the playful edge. Silhouettes are timeless, with minor details that nod to modernity, best seen in the red animal print dress embellished with zippers.
The runway show underscored the brand's strength designing transitional pieces. A waistcoat could be mistaken for a blouse and a rich-colored panel dress (that looked like something a mother could pass down to her daughter) evoked nostalgia, while a coppery dress worn over pants offered something for the brand's mature audience—a pragmatic approach to dressing.
